It would save everyone a lot of time, accounting effort, and embarrassment if the Salem lobbyists chipped into a common pot, sort of like a tip pool at a restaurant, to send the legislature on a week's vacation in Hawaii in the winter and a week's vacation in Europe in the summer, instead of buying them vacations one at a time, at retail. They could get a package rate on the airfare and accommodations and save a lot of money, and the legislators would find it a lot easier to report the gifts on their financial disclosure forms.
